Competitive Soccer

WMSA is a partner with the Greater Sudbury Soccer Club. GSSC offers competitive soccer to children aged 8-18 in the City of Greater Sudbury.


WMSA encourages and supports any children and youth who are interested in playing competitive soccer.


WMSA will offer a 100% refund on fees should a child make a GSSC team after registering with WMSA. Children and youth are able to play both WMSA and GSSC if they are interested.


Any family interested in competitive soccer for their child is encouraged to contact GSSC for more information on try-outs and teams.

Refund Policy

If a refund is requested before the season starts, a full refund (minus an administrative fee) will be granted. The administrative fee for 2022 is $25.00.


If a player withdraws before June 17, 2022, a refund of 50% will be granted, provided the full uniform is returned.

No refunds will be granted after June 18, 2022.


Any player who registers with WMSA and tries out for a competitive team will receive a full refund if they make their competitive team and choose not to play in the WMSA.


Late registrations are subject to a non-refundable late fee of $20.

Divisions

There are a total of six divisions for 2022.
For additional details about each division refer to the table below.

U4- Under 4

Born 2018 only

  • No full size games will be played.
  • This division will focus on skill development and learning.
  • Maximum of 64 players only
  • Play Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7pm at Kinsmen Sports Complex.
  • For safety reasons, no playing up in U6 is allowed.

U6- Under 6 

Born 2016 or 2017

  • Players play Mini Soccer on mini-fields.
  • Some rules are different than in soccer that is played on full fields.

  • Play Monday & Wednesday from 6-7pm at the Kinsmen Sports Complex.

U8- Under 8

Born 2014 or 2015

  • Players play Mini Soccer on mini-fields.
  • Some rules are different than in soccer that is played on full fields.
  • For additional details about Mini Soccer, click here.
  • Play Tuesday & Thursday from 6-7pm at the Kinsmen Sports Complex.

U10- Under 10

Born 2012 or 2013

  • Players play Mini Soccer on mini-fields.
  • Some rules are different than in soccer that is played on full fields.
  • For additional details about Mini Soccer, click here.
  • Play Monday & Wednesday at 6:00pm-7:15pm or 7:15pm-8:30pm at the Naughton Community Centre.

U12- Under 12

Born 2010 or 2011

  • Soccer is played on a full-sized soccer field.
  • Play Tuesday & Thursday at 7:15pm-8:30pm at the Kinsmen Sports Complex or Azilda.

U15- Under 15

Born 2007-2009

  • Soccer is played on a full-sized soccer field.
  • Play Monday & Wednesday at 7:15pm-8:30pm at the Kinsmen Sports Complex or Azilda.
